Sandwich panels for the roofs, walls and floors will be fabricated by the following method.
The skin will be 0.7MM steel zinc coated by hot dip process and finish coating done by polyester powder coating & Rock wool 100KG/M³.
Roof: R40 – 300mm thick (Rockwool insulation with a 3.5 R – value per inch)
Wall: R20 – 150mm thick & Floor: R11 – 100mm thick.
The walls, floors and roofs of RLB units are constructed using Sandwich Panels that are attached to the main steel structure.
The Sandwich Panels consist of two outer face sheets made up of 0.7mm thick PPGI that are separated by a layer of 100KG/M³ Rockwool insulation material.
The prime reason for fabricating these composites is to produce high structural rigidities and low weight.
The sandwich panels are fabricated by 0.7mm thick as per ASTM A755 Pre- Painted Galvanized Steel polyester coated RAL9002 ASTM A653 / A653M with steel as per ASTM STD inner and outer sheets bonded by an organic adhesive to the core of Rockwool of 100KG/M³.
Panels are joined together male and female edge configuration and will ultimately provide seamless connection which has high level of air and water tightness.
Rockwool sandwich panel production line is a semi automation equipment system and it includes: PPGI outer sheets are cut per requirements using hydraulic shearing machine.
One of the sheet will be placed manually on top of glue spraying machine’s bed. Then the PPGI sheet will be sprayed with glue by the automated spraying machine. Rockwool will be cut per requirements and placed manually on top of PPGI sheet and then glue is sprayed. Finally, another PPGI sheet is manually placed on top of Rockwool insulation. Laminating Press, Side PU Injection, and Cutting + Stacking + Packing.
The Rockwool insulation is arranged perpendicular to the plane of the panel and positioned in strips, laid longitudinally with off-set joints and transversally compacted, in such a way as to completely fill the void between the two metal facings.
The mechanism ensures precise interlocking, dimensional accuracy and eliminates the risk of air gaps and thermal bridging and joints are covered with butyl tape, sealants and flashings.
As insulation, it is an extremely cost effective means of improving energy efficiency and it works continuously, requiring no maintenance or replacement over the years and also it avoids depletion of natural resources in order to maintain an ecological balance.
The open, porous structure of Rockwool makes it highly efficient in protecting against unwanted noise. It works in two distinct ways to reduce noise by impeding the transmission of sound through an element of the structure or by absorbing sound at its surface. Rockwool insulation won't shrink, it won't move and it won't crumble. In fact, Rockwool insulation is so durable; it will maintain its performance for the lifetime of a building.
This in turn provides enhanced fire protection, acoustic performance, thermal regulation and mechanical performance for constructions.
